SAUSAGE GREEN BEAN POTATO CASSEROLE

This delicious sausage, green bean and potato dish is a perfect blend of meat, vegetables and potatoes for a warm and hearty dinner.

Well seasoned and easy to follow, I’m sure this recipe will become a family favorite! With the cold nights approaching, this sausage, green bean and potato casserole is perfect.

I use fresh green beans for this dish but if you only have frozen ones, this will work just as well and if you have trouble finding creamed potatoes, you can use small red potatoes.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced 1/4″ thick.

2 lbs. creamy baby potatoes, washed, cut in half.

2 15 oz. cans green beans, drained

1/8 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup butter

1 cup onions, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama® Seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/4 cup water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400° and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
Wash the creamed potatoes, cut them in half, and place them in a gallon sealable bag.
Add the oil, seasonings, pepper and red pepper flakes to the bag. Shake to coat.
In a large skillet, add sausages and water and cook over medium-high heat until sausages are browned and most of the water has evaporated.
Remove the sausages from the pan and, when cool enough, place them in a baggie.
Melt the butter in a pan and add the onions and garlic, cook until the onions are translucent.
Let it cool for a few minutes and once it is cool enough, add to the bag and shake to mix.
Finally, add the green beans to the bag, shake to mix, then empty the contents into the prepared baking dish.
Cover with foil and place in the oven. Bake for 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Carefully remove from oven and enjoy!
