A cheesy casserole with all of your favorite pizza toppings. I like to serve this with a salad and garlic bread. The leftovers are great. I have prepared this in advance and then taken it to potlucks in a slow cooker the next day.
I made this for supper and my family loved it. I used Italian sausage instead of ground beef and angel hair pasta in place of the egg noodles. I also used pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. Will definitely make it again.
I initially found this recipe on facebook the other day and gave it try tonight. I excluded the black olives and mushrooms. I did use a pound and a half ground beef and precooked the noodles. Didn’t seem to be a problem doing it that way. Really enjoyed it.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground meat
1 16 oz. box bow tie pasta
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 ounces sliced pepperoni
1 (26 ounce) jar pasta sauce
1 10 oz. can diced Italian style tomatoes
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Italian cheese blend
Any other pizza toppings, you can add like black olives, sausage, onions, green peppers,
Directions:
Boil water and salt for pasta. Once it starts boiling, add pasta. Brown meat in a separate frying pan. When pasta is cooked, drain.
In a lightly greased 9×13×3 inch pan, pour a small amount of sauce to lightly coat bottom. Add a layer of pasta and add 1/2 of sauce, can of tomatoes, garlic powder, and oregano.
On top of pasta, layer the ground meat, then add a layer of pepperonis. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, and Italian cheese. And layer more pepperoni. Top with bacon bits and anything else you like just like a pizza!
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
This sounds wonderful. Will definitely try!!
Do you do 2 layers of pasta with half sauce and meat after each? Sounds great!
I wondered the same thing.
This recipe is rather mixed up. What do you do with the other half of the pasta, and the 1/2 can of sauce left over. Something is not right. Kind of upsetting when you buy all the ingredients and then the recipe is wrong.
I’m guessing this recipe calls for 2 layers.
I have made this several times love love it…my husband and neighbor love it..
Are you supposed to do 2 layers ??
I would make 2 layers to use all of the sauce.
